As the longest submarine tunnel in the world, the Seikan Tunnel took 42 years from conception to completion and opened in March 1988. In Seikan Tunnel Museum, three-dimensional models of the tunnel are exhibited as well as images, panels, etc., visitors can easily understand the steps of this great achievement, and can explore how the tunnel with a total length of 53.85 km has been created under the 240 m seafloor. In a special zone, a corner that was actually used as a work pit is displayed. The whole tour course takes about 45 minutes.
