The Hakkodamaru, entered service since August 12, 1964, has a record of the longest service period for 23 years and 7 months, out of 55 successive Seikan ferry ships. It played a major role in the last sailing of the Seikan ferry. The bright yellow hull is familiar to many citizens. Now the ship is moored near the pier just like it once were, displayed as a Seikan Ferry Memorial Ship and as a tribute to the bygone era.
