Located along National Route 280, Tamamatsu Beach features shallow waters and exceptionally clear seawater. It is a popular destination in summer, drawing many visitors.

The beach is equipped with a two-story restroom building that includes shower facilities. In 1998, a large offshore breakwater measuring 300 meters in length—the largest of its kind in the Tohoku region—was completed to prevent coastal erosion.
