Andōkan is a facility designed in the image of the former Ōminato Naval Port District headquarters, recreating the look and feel of the Meiji and Taishō periods in both its interior and exterior design.
Inside, visitors will find a shop selling navy- and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force–themed goods, as well as a dining area offering carefully crafted gelato and the popular Ōminato JMSDF curry. The building also includes a lounge that provides tourist information and a versatile community space that can be used for meetings and other events.
