Misawa Terayama Shuji Memorial Hall opened in July 1997 after 3 years' construction. The hall preserves and exhibits items related to Shuji Terayama (1935-1983, an avant-garde poet, dramatist, writer, film director, and photographer.) that were donated by his mother, Hatsu. The exhibition wing has a total floor area of approximately 833㎡ and is connected to the foyer wing by a corridor. Seen from above, the building appears to be a wall clock that was often used as a prop in Terayama's plays and movies.
