The hotel is located just beside Oirase Gorge.There is a legend that Jesus Christ did not die on the cross at Golgotha. Instead, he fled to Japan and came to Shingo Village (former Herai Village), where he died at the age of 106 with his tomb. It is said that in 1933, Takeuchi Kiyomaro (1875–1965, the founder of a religious movement called Amatsukyo),  visited this village together with the ancient historian Toya Banzan. In the library of the Takeuchi family, they discovered the Takeuchi manuscripts, which show "Christ did live in this village". Meanwhile, guided by the village chief Mr. Denjiro Sasaki, two burial mounds were also found in a bamboo grove: the right one was a grave to deify Jesus Christ, and the left one was to deify Isukiri (Jesus' brother). Later, on May 26, 1936, a group of archaeologists from the World Ancient Literature Study Institute discovered the will of Christ. * Hebraic is the etymology of Herai.
