Ōma Cape(Ōmazaki) is the northernmost point of the island of Honshu in Japan and is part of the Shimokita Hantō Quasi-National Park. On a clear day, Mount Hakodate on the island of Hokkaido to the north can be seen across the Benten-Jima's lighthouse and the ocean. Here stands Oma’s city symbol, a tuna pole-and-line fishing statue that marks the northernmost point of Honshu, Japan’s main island. There is another stone monument that has Takuboku Ishikawa's famous poet written on it: ""on white sands of a rocky shore in a small island in Tokai area, I'm drained in tears, playing with a crab."" It is believed that the island in the poem is Benten-Jima offshore.
