The Kamegaoka Burial Site is an archaeological site of a large cemetery from the late Jomon Period (about 3,000 to 2,400 years ago).Spreading on the plateau is a burial area with many groups of pit graves, in the boggy lowlands of the area that surrounds the plateau, dumping grounds were established for ritual purposes. Unearthed from the dumping grounds are clay figurines called“goggle-eyed clay figurines”with big eyes, lacquered pottery and Rantai lacquerware, etc., which shows the exquisite and outstanding artistry at that time.
