Kanagi-machi in Goshogawara City is the birthplace of the Tsugaru shamisen (a three-stringed musical instrument). The Tsugaru Shamisen Hall has an exhibition room that shows the history of the Tsugaru shamisen, and examples of folk songs and local performing arts practiced with the instrument. Visitors can enjoy live Tsugaru shamisen performances and try playing the instrument themselves. A lesson from a professional (Not Free) is also available by advance reservation.
