Lake Jusan is the third-largest lake in Aomori Prefecture. It stretches 7 km from north to south and 5 km from east to west. The circumference is 31.4 km. It is called Lake Jusan because 13 (pronounced as jusan) rivers flow into this lake. It is a brackish water lake blessed with abundant natural resources, and home to Asian clams and Japanese basket clams.The Forests and lakes create a perfect environment for both migratory species and native birds, such as the rare marsh grassbirds and the natural Steller's sea eagles.
