Tsugaru Railway

The Tsugaru Railway runs between Tsugaru-Goshogawara Station and Tsugaru-Nakasato Station and is a popular local line with visitors as well as locals. Seasonal event trains travel across the Tsugaru Plain throughout the year, offering a different experience with each season.

Spring: Sakura to Hashire Merosu-gō, running through tunnels of cherry blossoms in full bloom

Summer: Wind Chime Train, with Tsugaru Kanayamayaki ceramic wind chimes—local specialties—hanging inside the cars

Autumn: Cricket Train, where passengers can enjoy the soothing sound of crickets

Winter: Stove Train, featuring old-fashioned coal stoves that keep the cars warm while you watch the famous Tsugaru snowstorms outside

On board, Tsugaru Peninsula Tourism Attendants provide sightseeing information in easy-to-understand Tsugaru dialect, adding a warm, local touch to the journey.
