JR Tsugaru Line

The Tsugaru Line opened in 1951 and is affectionately known as the “Crab Line.” It runs 55.8 kilometers from Aomori Station along the Mutsu Bay side of the Tsugaru Peninsula to Minmaya Station in Sotogahama Town. Services are operated using 701 series trains.

In the past, limited express services such as the Hakuchō and Super Hakuchō, as well as the overnight express Hamanasu, connected Honshu with Hokkaido via this line. Since March 26, 2016, however, that role has been taken over by the Hokkaido Shinkansen.

■ JR Tsugaru Line

・Services between Kanita Station and Mimmaya Station are currently suspended due to heavy rain in August 2022.

・Alternative Transportation

Alternative buses and shared taxi services, including "WANDO TAXI Free Schedule" and "WANDO TAXI Fixed Schedule," are now available. For detailed timetables, real-time vehicle locations, and other operational information, please check the bus location system "BusGO!
