The JR Ōu Line is a railway that runs north–south through the Tōhoku region, from Fukushima Station, passing through Yamagata and Akita Prefectures, and continuing all the way to Aomori Station. Within Aomori Prefecture, there are 15 stations between Tsugaru-Yunosawa Station (in Hirosaki City) and Aomori Station. Since the entire line opened in the Meiji era, it has been widely used by people living in the Tsugaru area for commuting to work and school, becoming an essential transportation network for daily life. From the train windows, passengers can enjoy views of Mt. Iwaki and the rural landscapes of the Tsugaru Plain.
